Most of us live with a guilty conscience that speaks shame over us. We believe the lie that God still demands a sin offering for our standing with Him to be "right." We have learned to work hard and "do our part" so God can forgive us of sin. Yet, we come up empty every time. Unfortunately, our efforts are constantly in vain. The more we try to rid ourselves of sin, the more imprisoned we become. The unconditional love of God has had plenty of conditions based on my behavior and love toward him. We have lived a Christianity that's lifeless and works-centric, building up unbelief in the finished work of Christ. We live like there's a debt still needing to be paid.

Don't you know that God has already given you all of Heaven? Forgiveness, holiness, and purity are already yours. The Cross of Christ finished the work you could never accomplish. Jesus has effectively restored us to the Father, meaning- there's no need for your sacrifice. There's no one demanding you to pay for your sins. The trinity is now satisfied and convinced of your innocence because of the finished work of Jesus, but will you be?
