Spiritual "Bucket List"

In the 2008 film, The Bucket List, two aging men with fatal illnesses create a "list" of must-do activities before they die.  Some of their must-do activities are pretty insane for elderly men - including sky diving, driving race cars, etc.  But as they moved down their bucket list of adrenalin charged adventures, they soon realize what is most fulfilling - and that is finding peace and love with their closest friends and family members. It's all about relationships.

Isn't that the same with God?  How is your relationship with Him? What if you made a 2012 Spiritual Bucket List in an attempt to draw closer to Jesus?  And rather than calling them New Year's Resolutions, call them a Spiritual Bucket List.

Here's what could be on your list:

1.  Improve your prayer life.  Spend more time praying for others this year!
2.  Read your Bible every day.  Spend 20 minutes, or more, slowly reading God's Word!
3.  Get involved in your church.  Join a ministry and serve!
4.  Intentionally make friends with non-church goers.  Let your light shine!
5.  Join a Small Group.  Form new relationships and get connected!
6.  Read more Devotional books.  Read a book a month that will grow you!
7.  Talk to others about Jesus.  Share your God-stories throughout the day!
8.  Invite a friend to church.  The power of the invitation is immense!
9.  Pray for divine appointments.  God wants to minister through you to others!

Let's make 2012 a turning point as we put our faith into greater practice.  And as we do, move through your Spiritual Bucket List knowing that your relationship with Jesus is only going to get better and stronger, until that not-so-distant day when we see Him face to face!

Have a Blessed New Year!
