Sharing Your Story

The last four Sabbaths we've been talking about BFF - sharing your faith to ensure you have a best friend forever in Christ.  We've been reminded that evangelism is not just for the professionals, but a call upon every Christian.  And though we are called to plant seeds and water them, it is only the Holy Spirit that causes the seeds to grow.  Finally, we have been challenged to pray a Radical Prayer, asking God to raise up an army of Christians who are serious about letting their light shine in this ever-darkening world.

But it all comes back to us, individually, being intentional with our circles of influence to prayerfully and boldly share our faith by opening our mouths.  In fact, in some cases, the invitation actually comes to us where a friend plainly asks, "Why do you believe what you believe?" That's a time for a flash prayer before answering.

The Bible says, "Be ready at all times to answer anyone who asks you to explain the hope you have in you, but do it with gentleness and respect." (1 Peter 3:15-16 TEV) The best way to "be ready" is not to share all the key Bible verses on salvation you have memorized.  Rather, it's the best time to share your personal testimony.

This Sabbath we take a closer look at what the Bible teaches us when it comes to sharing our personal account of how God has worked in our life.  It's a message you won't want to miss as we get much more serious about becoming fisher's of men and women in 2012.  Hope to see you this Sabbath.
