Don't Miss The Season

Has the haste and busyness of this time of year distracted you from the real reason for it? Oh, we have our shopping to do. Thankfully, a budget and the internet can make that process a little easier. We have the parties and get-togethers. Those are fun, but also keep us occupied. We may have visitors coming or be packing our own bags for a special trip to be with family and friends for Christmas. The fact is, the preparation and anticipation of Christmas Day can lure us into forgetting the actual meaning behind the day.
Just think of it again - the Creator of you, not just you, all of humanity, not just humanity, the world, not just the world, but the sun, moon and stars, agreed to be reduced to a mere mortal and come, not as a full-grown human, but as an precious, helpless baby. God agreed to be a baby. And for what purpose, but to save you and me. Is there any better birthday than that one?
So the next time you are waiting in line to purchase that important Christmas gift, or are driving to the next Christmas party, or flying to see your relatives this holiday season, think and reflect on the birth of God - a God who always was, yet became a vulnerable baby - so that one day, He would save His people from their sins. And that is one birthday we will be celebrating forever!
"And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins" Matthew 1:21.
