On Borrowed Time

What if you were told by your physician, the biopsy did not look good, and you were given three months to live.  After walking out of the medical office, stunned beyond belief, tears clouding your vision, you earnestly begin to pray;  "Lord, is it really true?  Lord is it reversible?  Lord are you hearing me?  Lord, would you be so merciful as to extend my life another decade?"

Forever Friends

A 2006 study published in American Sociological Review found that people in the U.S. had fewer friends than they'd had 20 years prior. In 1985, the average American claimed to have three close confidants (which could have included spouses or family members, in addition to friends), but by 2004, the average American had only two close confidants. One in four people reported having no one to talk to at all.

Sharing Your Story

The last four Sabbaths we've been talking about BFF - sharing your faith to ensure you have a best friend forever in Christ.  We've been reminded that evangelism is not just for the professionals, but a call upon every Christian.  And though we are called to plant seeds and water them, it is only the Holy Spirit that causes the seeds to grow.  Finally, we have been challenged to pray a Radical Prayer, asking God to raise up an army of Christians who are serious about letting their light shine in this ever-darkening world.

The Radical Prayer

Have you been praying the Radical Prayer every day?  You say, "Why should I?"  Because it will change you and impact individuals in your circle of influence for all eternity.  You say, "I don't have time."  Really, it doesn't take but a minute to intensely issue this prayer.  You ask, "What's the Radical Prayer again?"  It's the prayer Jesus told his disciples to pray as he sent them out to do evangelism.

Party Time!

Jesus once told his disciples, "The harvest is great, but the workers are few."  Luke 10:2   Could it be that Jesus was right?  We live in a world where people are actually starving to know the Truth and yet few are willing to share it?
